London to Saigon

A charity fundraising drive from London, England to Saigon, Vietnam in a 1966 Porsche 912. The journey begins in London on September 1st 2010, ending seven dusty weeks later at the Rex hotel in Saigon.

Why? Inspired by the challenge and tempted by the prospect of adventure, yes. But most importantly convinced by the fantastic opportunity to raise funds for my favourite charity, the outstanding Mines Advisory Group (MAG)

The trip is not part of an organised tour or rally, rather a self-conceived & planned solo car effort, with an intentional lack of support vehicles and backup in general.

Full details of the Porsche can be found on The Car page, essentially I've endeavoured to keep the vehicle as standard as I possibly could. The essence of the challenge is to complete the drive in a classic 1960's Porsche. Any major modification to which, notably any deviation towards classic Landrover, would deduct from the challenge and therefore be considered as cheating !

Please take some time to explore this website, and also to visit our Charity page where you can learn more about MAG, and the life changing work they carry out daily .

The sole purpose of this event is to raise money for MAG - Please give generously, donations are being securely handled via our page on the Just Giving website.

Thank you for your support!
